Stoney Lake Weekend, 2017
May 26th, 27th and 28th

We are pleased to announce the detailed plans For Stoney Lake Weekend 2017!

Our guest teacher will be Sandy Gallamore from Richmond Virginia. Sandy started dancing as a youth in 1981 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He received his Full Certificate in 2003 at Thistle School. He teaches a regular weekly class and has taught various workshops and classes across the United States and Canada, including Asilomar, Fort Worden, Ardbrae (Ottawa), Argyle (Washington D.C.), and Cocoa Beach FL. Sandy is one of the firstNorth American assessors for the RSCDS Medal Test Assessment. He is an active member of TAC (Teacher Association of Canada) and also an author of dances.

So many of last year's dancers supported booking the nearby Pine Vista resort (with the Irwin Inn closing) that we have reserved it for the Weekend accommodation. Their brochure, rates and site map are available (and downloadable) below. The many options for accommodation are described in detail (and also on their website www.pinevista.com), and they would be pleased to discuss what you are looking for.

Note that Pine Vista rates are on a cottage basis (rather than per person as at the Irwin Inn). Pine Vista is offering a special discount for our weekend which is 10% less than the low season rates. You may also be interested in their offer of 50% discount for a third bnight's stay.

Pine Vista does not serve meals but all of the cottages have full kitchen facilities. In addition, we have arranged meal options for breakfasts, lunches and dinners as detailed in the registration form. Select the choices that you prefer. We have not organized Friday dinner but the attached Area Dining list identifies options in the vicinity of Pine Vista.

With the Wildfire private golf club between Pine Vista and the Sunset Pavillion, we have arranged for Saturday dinner in their attractive clubhouse (see www.golfwildfire.com).

As in the past, there will be end of evening parties on Friday and Saturday nights (in the Hamilton Room at Pine Vista).

Saturday afternoon, Sandy will do a special session on new dance figures. A rehearsal for the evening's dances will also be offered, but otherwise dancers are free to experience the recreational facilities of the resort. Pine Vista will offer special pontoon boat tours of picturesque Stoney Lake for us. Massages may also be booked.

We are very excited to be hosting the 33rd annual Stoney Lake Weekend because it could be the best ever with the new set-up for this year. Hope you can join us.
